Netzence launches Klimateride in Lagos

At the centre of the platform is an artificial intelligence-powered mobility infrastructure that combines ride-hailing, package delivery, last-mile logistics and other smart mobility services within a single digital ecosystem.

According to Netzence, KlimateRide’s integrated safety architecture is designed to enhance safety protection by up to 80 per cent through the combined deployment of artificial intelligence, identity verification, real-time trip monitoring, intelligent route analysis, emergency response systems and other technology-enabled safeguards.

The company said the platform was developed in response to the changing realities of transportation in Nigeria, particularly in Lagos, where millions of daily journeys take place against the backdrop of traffic congestion, rising transportation costs, security concerns and increasing demand for faster and more dependable delivery services.

Ahead of the Lagos launch, Netzence conducted extensive driver-partner engagement and onboarding activities as part of preparations for commercial operations.

The initiative involved physical onboarding sessions, digital registration campaigns, platform demonstrations and training programmes designed to familiarise driver-partners with KlimateRide’s technology, safety requirements and operational standards.

The company said feedback gathered during the beta testing and driver onboarding phases played an important role in improving platform stability, user experience, trip management and operational performance.

The launch of KlimateRide also comes at a critical moment for Lagos, with a population estimated at more than 20 million people and one of Africa’s most dynamic urban  economies, the city faces enormous transportation and logistics challenges.

Traffic congestion costs businesses and individuals significant productive time, while the continued expansion of e-commerce and digital businesses has increased demand for reliable last-mile delivery services.
